Indus Action seeks a Senior Manager, Government Relations to support our operations and partnership-building efforts with the Government of Rajasthan. Take ownership of the first breakthrough initiative in Rajasthan, leading critical diagnostics and program management in close partnership with government counterparts. Serve as the anchor point between Indus Action and the state's department of social justice to deliver impactful, scalable reforms in livelihoods and labour programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end diagnostic study for programs in Rajasthan, working directly with state government officials to secure data access and necessary authorisations.
Coordinate, design, and conduct capacity-building trainings for implementing government and field staff on revised program Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Develop, implement, and standardise revised SOPs based on field learnings and stakeholder consultations.
Oversee the design and maintenance of Program Management System (PMS) dashboards, enabling real-time monitoring and data-driven decision making.
Organise and facilitate periodic state-level program reviews with key stakeholders to ensure program progress, bottleneck resolution, and course corrections.
Lead the operationalisation and oversight of a state-level grievance helpdesk, ensuring timely and effective redressal of worker and stakeholder grievances.
Maintain strong working relationships with Rajasthan state functionaries to facilitate smooth project execution and joint problem-solving.
Systematically document best practices, insights, and learnings for sharing with other states and national partners, supporting replication and scale-up.
Requirements
Skills & Qualifications:
Master's degree in public policy, law, social sciences, management, or a related field.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in government relations, program management,
or field implementation--preferably in livelihoods, labour welfare, or social protection sectors.
Proven expertise in working with government officials at the state and/or national level, especially in Rajasthan, is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to drive diagnostics, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and translate insights into actionable operational improvements.
Strong analytical, communication, training, and project management skills.
Experience managing PMS dashboards, reviews, and accountability mechanisms.
Fluency in English and Hindi is required; proficiency in Rajasthani or other regional languages is a plus.
Ability to work independently, prioritise multiple tasks, and deliver quality outputs within tight timelines.
