Experience: Min. 12+ years and last 4-5 years in managerial level experience in pharmaceutical industry.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Global Procurement to oversee the procurement of direct spend items, including raw materials (APIs), excipients, and packaging materials, across all our formulation manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the global procurement efforts for direct spend categories, managing raw materials, excipients, and packaging materials across multiple formulation manufacturing facilities.
- Identify, assess, and establish supplier relationships in accordance with company policies.
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements.
- Drive the achievement of core procurement objectives, including on-time and in-full deliveries, cost savings, procurement-to-pay efficiency, and supply chain business continuity plans.
- Possess hands-on knowledge of regulated markets, especially European, UK, Australian, Canadian, and ROW regulations, and implement best practices for quality.
- Regularly review production plans, orders, inventory status, and material shortages to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor pending orders, follow up on dispatch and delivery to meet just-in-time requirements.
- Evaluate vendor performance through periodic ratings based on quality, delivery, and pricing.
- Coordinate with quality teams to ensure timely material approvals and address rejections.
- Facilitate timely replacement of rejected materials and maintain open communication with vendors.
- Manage procurement governance for Technology Transfer projects through stage gate weekly CTT reviews.
- Ensure compliance by mitigating risks and negotiating contracts that adhere to industry regulations.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitors, and suppliers to maintain procurement pipelines with alternative vendors.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in procurement with a focus on direct spend categories, preferably in pharmaceuticals.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
- In-depth understanding of regulated markets, particularly European, UK, Australian, Canadian, and ROW requirements.
- Familiarity with SAP/SAP-HANA - MM Module is an advantage.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Analytical mindset and ability to drive cost savings.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects effectively.
- Results-oriented and able to meet procurement objectives.
- Regulatory compliance expertise and risk management skills.
- Familiarity with industry best practices in quality and procurement.
