Job Description

The Non Market Risk (NMR) is the Business unit risk management team for the Sales & Trading division of Morgan Stanley. This team is the first line of defence for Institutional Equities Division (IED) within Sales & Trading division of the firm. This team helps manage regulatory, conduct, operational and franchise risk for the division. Key functions which the team performs are mentioned below:
Trade Surveillance Identify and escalate sales & trading activity that appears counter to regulatory guidelines and/or Firms policies. These activities are considered unusual, abusive, manipulative, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful and pose the above-mentioned risks to the firm.
Internal policy compliance Monitoring to ensure employees within the division are complying with the firm mandated policies like employee trading, marketing & communications, unauthorized trading etc.
Entitlements managements & Data Leakage Manage entitlements and information controls for the division and ensuring there is proper segregation of duties between conflicting functions, there is information barriers between desks etc.
Primary Responsibilities

Entitlements management & Data Leakage
Provisioning employees to Morgan Stanley accounts and Sales & Trading applications as per the users role and business
Periodically reviewing the appropriateness and relevance of the users entitlements to various applications and ensuring there are adequate Information barriers
Improving and monitoring existing control frameworks and / or creating new control frameworks where required
Opining on the effectiveness of existing entitlements processes and addressing gaps or building new processes where required
Ensure access to third party platforms are relevant and appropriate to the role of the employee.
Developing business requirements and procedures for strategic initiatives
Helping with the entitlements strategy for IED globally, which includes managing key entitlements initiatives and projects related to transfers, vendor applications, segregation of duties, cyclical and adhoc entitlements reviews
Identify areas of risk and review instances of data leakage and escalate/ remediate appropriately
Representing the BU in Firmwide working groups related to entitlements and data leakage, and advocating for solutions towards any challenge faced by IED

Risk Projects
Lead Risk projects, related to the supervisory platform and the information security program
Developing business requirements documents and procedures for strategic initiatives
Identifying and driving various efficiency and productivity initiatives for the team

Internal policy compliance
Reviewing internal policy breaches, investigate, educate and escalate as necessary
Reviewing electronic communications and escalating incidents breaching internal policy
Create management reports to highlight issues, trends, new regulatory changes etc.

Qualifications

Chartered Accountant or MBA
9-12 years with a background in Compliance, Risk Management, Trade surveillance and / or Trading Support focusing on sales and trading issues
Ability to work independently
Exceptional organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail
Knowledge of Equities markets, understanding of applicable regulatory rules and regulations
Excellent oral and written communication skills
An understanding of and strong focus on the mechanics of a control environment, including escalation and risk-related issues
Proficiency in MS Office and related applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Education: MBA/ PGDMr r r r r r r Any Graduate
