About the role

About the role: This role will drive a strong Data Quality Management culture within team particularly focusing on improving Master Data Quality and enabling Master Data Governance by publishing KPIs & Reports. This role is responsible for the definition, maintenance, uptake and dissemination of data quality metrics and KPIs, driving a strong data quality management culture and focusing on ensuring end to end Master Data Quality. Drives Data Quality enhancement across the organization for consistency, correctness and completeness. Support and facilitate data enabled decision making for Novartis internal customers by providing quality data.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for enabling the technology, governance, domain teams with DQM framework, process and product manager for enterprise level DQ products, platform, tools & technology.
  • Backup to DQ lead to drive the discussion with the Finance data lead, Master Data & Governance teams in different forums.
  • Responsible for forming DQ roadmap, DQ profiling, critical data elements (CDEs) identified, DQ rule definitions, DQ metric thresholds, business impact, remediation measures & proactive DQ processes.
  • Working towards enabling the DQM processes across domains, collect metrics, help drive appropriate action from stakeholders around the impacts of DQ.
  • Helping in defining the Data Quality & Governance process and setting up the review and audit management process across Finance.
  • Responsible for rolling out the periodical Data Quality assessments, DQ KPI measurements, Gap analysis & Continuous improvement to ensure that active Data Governance is achieved, and data quality meets business need and complies with mandatory standards.
  • Develop training materials, documents on scope of the reports, data quality rules and various data governance modules.
  • Provide analytical support to business by publishing Excel/QlikView/Qlik Sense reports for Data Quality.
Role Requirements

Essential Requirement:
  • Engineering Degree; advanced master\'s degree in technology or data science desired
  • 8+ years of IT experience with 5+ years of relevant experience in Data Quality & Governance, with at least 2 years in Pharma/Healthcare
  • Have hands-on experience SQL, IDQ tool, and successfully implemented DQ rules for various projects.
  • Strongly familiar with key DQ concepts such as Data Quality Management, Data Profiling, DQ Rule Creation, DQ Metrics, DQ Remediation, Monitoring & Measurement.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Have an understanding on Data Governance overall process in alignment with DQ.
  • Good understanding on Data Quality processes and Audit Management for DQM.
  • Experience in deploying data quality management capabilities and services in a highly matrixed, global organization.
  • Proven ability to define relevant data quality KPIs and targets for producing (transactional) as well as consuming (analytics, decision-support) platforms and systems.
  • In-depth understanding of meta-data capture processes and techniques
  • Experience with automating business and technical meta-data capture and enrichment through technology and best-practice
  • Strong mathematical and statistical analytical skills, ability to interpret and analyse data patterns and anomaly detection.
  • Experience with industry-leading data governance and data management tools like Collibra, Informatica, EBX etc
  • Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships across a broad network of stakeholders to evangelize the strategy and adoption of enterprise data management capabilities
