Yara aims to be the crop nutrition company for the future and is leading the development of sustainable agriculture and digital tools to contribute to solving global agricultural challenges. We have a worldwide presence with sales teams in ~150 countries and around 17,000 employees.

Drawing on over a century of crop nutrition experience, Yara established the Digital Farming unit - now Digital Ag Solutions (DAS) - 4 years ago to explore how technology could be used to impact farmer livelihoods and productivity. Today, DAS has built products for smallholder and professional farmers, retailers and other farming ecosystem stakeholders across Asia, Africa, the Americas and Europe.

Responsibilities

• Build, develop, coach and manage a team of data professionals in the area of Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Science, Experimentation, AI & ML.
• Establish best practices to generate tangible business value within data stream & sub-streams as defined above.
• Plan and drive maturity in data teams by implementing right process, procedures, roles and responsibilities.
• Identify and build data products based on data platforms and technologies which can be leveraged by other product teams.
• Help the team in operationalizing business strategy through business intelligence, insights and experimentation.
• Coordinate with Product / Business teams within the organisation to ensure that data resources are committed to the right projects.
• Provide guidance and supervision to the team; where relevant, provide insight into individual challenges and support problem solving as needed.
• Coordinate with broader digital farming teams to align strategies around data and related capabilities teams like Data Management, Data Operations, and related

Profile

• Data project/team management (people) experience across end-to-end development of mobile and web apps (Android, iOS).
• Solid understanding of best practices within the data space including Data Engineering, BI, Analytics and Machine Learning
• Have pas experience of working with data platforms and related technologies
• Comfortable working with our data analytics toolsets: Python, SQL, Postgres, Redshift, PowerBI, SageMaker
• Comfortable working with our dev. environment: AWS, GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, Docker
• Aligned with our principles: agile, customer-centric, lean, service-oriented architecture, self-organization, transparency.
