Position Summary
At Heads Up For Tails, communication is how we build trust, warmth, and long-term relationships with pet parents. Every word we put out, across campaigns, products, social media, films, and stores, should feel thoughtful, human, and deeply aligned with our brand
We're looking for a Content & Communications Lead to lead our content and copy function, shape strong brand ideas, and ensure that everything we say truly speaks to our customers.
This role combines creative leadership, brand thinking, and people management, with ownership of how HUFT shows up across everyday communication as well as big brand moments.
Responsibilities
Lead the content and copy team with clarity, empathy, and high creative standards
Own HUFT's brand voice and narrative across platforms and touchpoints
Conceptualise and drive brand campaigns, launches, collaborations, and partnerships
Ensure all communication is rooted in a deep understanding of pet parents, culture, and context
Lead, mentor, and develop the content and copy team, Guide writers from brief to execution, helping them think strategically as well as
creatively, Foster a culture of strong ideas, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Own and evolve HUFT's brand voice to ensure it remains warm, honest, and relatable, Develop a deep understanding of our customers -- their needs, emotions, and realities as pet parents, Ensure all content feels human, relevant, and grounded in real insight.
Conceptualise and lead brand campaigns, product and sub-brand launches, and seasonal moments. Develop central ideas that translate seamlessly across content, design, video, social, retail, and digital. Partner closely with design, visual communications, Social, and marketing teams to bring ideas to life.
Shape the creative thinking behind brand collaborations, partnerships, and influencer-led initiatives. Develop strong narratives and content frameworks that feel authentic to HUFT. Work closely with internal and external partners to ensure consistency and quality.

Oversee content across all touchpoints -- campaigns, social media, films, product packaging, e-commerce, retail communication, blogs, scripts, and more. Ensure clarity, consistency, and excellence across formats and platforms.
Act as a creative partner to Brand, Marketing, Design, Visual Communications, Product, and Retail teams. Contribute to broader brand and business conversations through a communication lens. Ensure content supports both brand-building and business priorities.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
6-8 years of experience in content, copywriting, or brand communications
Proven experience leading teams and shaping brand narratives
Strong conceptual thinking and storytelling ability
Excellent writing and editing skills across formats
Ability to understand customers deeply and communicate with empathy
Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment
Being a pet parent is strongly preferred
