Senior Manager, Cloud Reliability Engineering

As part of our Corporate Engineering team within Reliability Engineering & Enablement (REE), you'll lead a talented team driving innovation in cloud reliability. We collaborate across global teams in the UK, US, and APAC, ensuring our systems are secure, compliant, and continuously improving
Key Responsibilities:Team Management: Lead & Responsible for the Cloud REE team and coordinate efforts with capability squads and chapters. Global Interaction: Work across global teams in time zones spanning the UK, US, and APAC areas. CI/CD Pipeline: Build and maintain a Pipeline for software delivery. Security: Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams with Patching compliance. Project Participation: Participate in project-related activities to meet operational needs. Knowledge Management: Ensure knowledge articles of all supported systems are continually updated. Customer Service: Provide a high level of customer service. Process Alignment: Follow and implement to established incident management, change and problem management procedures. Mentoring and Development: Handle the work efforts of individual contributors, providing mentoring performance management, and career development planning. Process Improvement: Lead IT process improvement efforts and participate in team development activities. Customer Management: Handle partner relationships and expectations, facilitating open communication channels. Training Programs: Implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the reliability engineering team. Automation: Drive automation by developing and maintaining cloud-based tools and automation frameworks to resolve complicated problems. Automate repetitive tasks to improve development workflow efficiency. Cloud Solutions: Formulate designs from customer requirements to implement cloud solutions for infrastructure and application configuration. Apply industry standard methodologies to meet non-functional requirements, including scalability, availability, and resilience. Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain reusable patterns and modules. Use industry principles and tools to provision and handle infrastructure efficiently. Partnership: Work closely with application teams, developer support teams, and platform engineers to deliver optimal tools and practices for development workflows.. Training: Conduct training sessions for new joiners and non-cloud team members to improve productivity, upskill, and promote tool adoption. Compliance: Establish and accept company compliance requirements and regulations, including security controls and architecture frameworks. Testing: Implement proactive testing solutions to ensure code quality, including automated testing frameworks. Promote a strong testing practices to address issues early in the development lifecycle. DevOps Integration: Work with the DevOps team to integrate new DevOps tooling, technologies, and methodologies to support development and operational requirements. Cost Optimization: Refine infrastructure costs and apply company sustainability policies where applicable. Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies, methodologies, tools, and industry trends, incorporating them into continuous improvement initiatives. On-Call Support: Responsible for shift and on-call rotations, ensuring 24/7 reliability of production services.

Technical Profile / Key Skills:AWS, AWS Aurora, AWS Security, CloudFormation Templates Expertise in implementing and maintaining cloud security Proficiency in FinOps related to cloud cost optimization Nexus/JFrog Artifactory Experience migrating from on-prem to cloud and integrating testing tools with CI/CD pipelines System Engineering: Red Hat/Windows

Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience:Technical Experience: 15 years DevOps Experience: 3 years AWS Cloud Experience: 5 years Support: Expected to provide out-of-hours support for major incidents and act as a second-line point of escalation Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP) Framework Knowledge: Familiarity with the ITIL framework Incident Management: Handling incidents, change requests, service requests, and leading TRT (Technical Recovery Team) calls Problem Solving: Strong Problem solving skills on relevant platforms Financial Markets: Basic understanding of financial markets is desirable Communication: Communicate efficiently in English, both oral and written Independence and Partnership: Ability to work independently and across teams Multitasking: Ability to handle workload and meet tight delivery timelines without losing sight of priorities Work with multi-functional teams including change, operations, and product management to integrate reliability engineering into the product lifecycle Motivation: Highly motivated, self-directed individual with a positive and proactive demeanor Metrics: Define and measure reliability engineering success, including uptime, response time, error rate, and MTTR

Education and Professional Skills
Professional qualification:

Bachelor of science or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a STEM field (desirable)

Curiosity: Interest in new technologies and tools, with creative thinking and initiative Certifications: Relevant DevOps certifications and Agile and ITIL certifications are preferable People Management: Experience developing teams across time zones Technical Understanding: Deep understanding of development and systems/platform engineering Customer Centricity: Strong focus on customer needs Strategic Ability: Ability to define technical direction for product portfolios, including strategies and execution plans
