Year    Pune, Maharashtra, India

Job Description

:
Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our sustainability advisory team as an expert in Climate Risk Assessment and Scenario Analysis. In this consulting role, you will lead client engagements focused on identifying, quantifying, and managing climate-related risks--both physical and transition--across sectors and geographies.
You will apply global climate scenarios, develop financial impact models, and support clients in aligning with leading frameworks such as TCFD, ISSB/IFRS S2, and CDP. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with strategic thinking and client-facing communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Advisory & Engagement Delivery

  • Lead climate risk assessments and scenario analysis projects for clients across industries (e.g., financial services, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure).
  • Apply recognized climate scenarios (IPCC SSP/RCP, NGFS, IEA) to model risk exposure and financial implications.
  • Translate climate data into decision-useful insights for risk management, strategy, and capital planning.
Technical Modeling & Analysis
  • Develop and validate models to assess physical risks (e.g., flood, heat stress, drought) and transition risks (e.g., carbon pricing, policy shifts, market dynamics).
  • Use geospatial tools (ArcGIS/QGIS), climate data APIs, and financial modeling platforms (Excel, Python, R) to deliver robust analytics.
  • Support development of internal carbon pricing, marginal abatement cost curves, and net-zero transition pathways.
Framework Alignment & Disclosure Support
  • Advise clients on climate-related disclosures aligned with TCFD, ISSB/IFRS S2, CDP, SEBI BRSR, and other relevant standards.
  • Prepare audit-ready documentation and support assurance processes.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging best practices in climate risk reporting.
Thought Leadership & Practice Development
  • Contribute to the development of methodologies, tools, and knowledge assets within the climate risk practice.
  • Represent the firm in external forums, webinars, and industry working groups.
  • Mentor junior consultants and support capability building across the team.
Required:
  • Master's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Climate Policy, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in climate risk assessment, sustainability consulting, or financial risk modeling.
  • Strong understanding of climate science, scenario frameworks, and financial translation of climate risks.
  • Proficiency in modeling tools (Python, R, Excel), geospatial platforms (ArcGIS/QGIS), and BI tools (Power BI/Tableau).
Preferred:
  • Experience working with or advising large corporates, financial institutions, or government agencies.
  • Familiarity with carbon markets, net-zero strategy development, and internal carbon pricing.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., GARP SCR, FRM, CDP accredited).
