will act as a strategic partner to business leadership, driving financial planning, commercial decision-making, performance management, and profitability initiatives The role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of retail economics, and the ability to translate business insights into actionable recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Partnering & Performance Management
Collaborate with category, supply chain, procurement, operations, and growth teams to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Lead monthly business reviews covering revenue, margins, expenses, and profitability.
Develop dashboards and KPIs tailored for retail and rural commerce operations (AOV, fulfillment cost, delivery cost, category margins, return rates, etc.).
2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Lead financial planning cycles including Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecasts, and Long-Range Plans.
Conduct variance analysis against budgets/forecasts and highlight key business drivers.
Build financial models to support new initiatives, expansion plans, and business cases.
3. Commercial Finance & Profitability
Analyze unit economics across categories, warehouses, geographies, and channels.
Evaluate pricing, discounting, sourcing efficiency, vendor terms, and cost-optimization opportunities.
Drive contribution margin and EBITDA improvement initiatives with business teams.
Review SKU-level profitability, procurement margins, and delivery economics.
4. Reporting & MIS
Prepare weekly and monthly financial dashboards for leadership and investors.
Ensure timely reporting of revenue, margins, and operational KPIs.
5. Controls, Governance & Compliance
Work closely with Finance, Accounts, and ICFR teams to strengthen internal controls.
Ensure accurate revenue recognition, expense booking, and accruals as per Ind-AS.
Support internal and statutory audits and ensure compliance with financial policies.
6. Strategic Initiatives
Lead financial workstreams for new category launches, logistics models, sourcing hubs, and warehouse expansions.
Evaluate ROI for technology investments, marketing campaigns, and operational pilots.
Support fundraising, investor reporting, and due-diligence activities.
