Role Purpose:


The purpose of this role is to deliver the market-led, integrated Business Development & Sales plan aligned with Global/Regional Exams strategy, in order to leverage opportunities and create value. This role is ultimately responsible for building and managing demand, ensuring capacity fill, delivering income/surplus targets, and overseeing quality of the B2C customer experience. The postholder will build and manage key client accounts and partnerships across the country. The postholder will work closely with marketing and communications colleagues in country and within the region.


Main accountabilities:

  • Adds value to key accounts and looks at opportunities for retention through cross-sell and other initiatives
  • Flags and addresses issues in delivery and proactively seeks solution for an amicable resolution
  • Practices Relationship Management, development and reviews (including mapping and delivering F2F touch-points, annual and quarterly reviews for big accounts)
  • Builds and develops networks around existing clients to cultivate segments
  • Account and stakeholder management
  • Manages and delivers in year Account Plan
  • Develops out of year Account Plan
  • Links with B2B support from Operations team to set and review quality of delivery to support account relationship.
  • Links with Marketing for targeted events, campaigns and collateral to support retention and value add
  • Undertakes contract review and refresh
  • Works to defined Account Relationship standards and frameworks, including an up-to-date records on relevant CRM system
  • Prioritises own work activities, from long terms plans into day to day activities.
  • Builds relationships and uses influence to work with others internally to grow the business
  • Market and customer intelligence
  • Ensures product/sector knowledge is up to date and forward thinking
  • Provides account/country specific input into market intelligence activities, innovation and business development/marketing plan/targets
  • Collects and shares trends and insights within market developments
  • Using standard procedures and templates, regularly records, analyses and reports on operational
  • activity levels and performance data, to support senior managers in making timely and effective business decisions that respond to operational needs.



Role Requirements:

  • University Degree in any subject or qualification in a relevant field. Business management or marketing qualifications is desireable.
  • 4 years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant experience in BD role. Experience of working with the India public and private schools sector is desireable.
  • Demonstrable experience of sustaining and/or growing a product/service in line with strategic priorities for income and impact. Business development experience in the English & Exams / Education sector is desireable.
  • Significant experience collecting and analysing client/stakeholder feedback and using the data to identify business needs and obstacles; works to resolve them. Experience working with a dispersed team located in different cities or countries.
  • Takes a pro-active approach to identifying ways in which service can be improved, and takes these forward.

Ensure team members complete Safeguarding e-learning courses and adhere to the Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
