Job summary
Amazon seeks a Risk Manager for its Finance Operations Risks Intelligence (FORI) team. FORI provides controllership across Finance Operations through inspections (audits) of controls and processes. Finance Operations is a business service that is responsible for corporate procurement, vendor payables and payments, employee payroll, customer receivables, and global real estate & facilities.
Overall, you will lead a team of five to nine auditors to conduct inspections across Finance Operations. You will guide inspection scope, planning, execution, and reporting, providing direct supervision. You need to own each inspection and dive deep, yet delegate audit procedures that allow you to scale. You will also collaborate with stakeholders to develop action items that address findings, prepare or review formal inspection reports, and present findings to senior leadership. You will build subject matter expertise of Finance Operations' processes, current initiatives, and organizational changes impacting financial processes via walk-throughs and interaction with process owners. This role requires strong leadership skills to influence cross-functionally without authority and/or self-serve in order to achieve critical inspection objectives. You will be expected to identify risks that impact Finance Operations and work with the appropriate owners to devise mitigation strategies. FORI is looking for someone who can dive deep to understand Amazon's disparate and complex processes and related applications, work through ambiguity, and deliver results.
Additionally, you may also participate in adhoc assignments as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A. or B.S. in accounting or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant accounting, audit, or similar field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant.
  • Proven ability to supervise and develop junior level staff.
  • Proven ability to understand complex process flows.
  • Proven ability to take ownership, self-motivate, and deliver results in highly ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, problem solve, and make decisions in complex situations.
  • Ability to think and innovate at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay organized and meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive level presentations.
