Marsh McLennan is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Mumbai/Pune office.
Senior Manager - Applications Development (Grade E)
What can you expect:

• Work with business to extract and understand their requirements for new and existing business applications
• Assist in the technical investigation for new features and development to business applications
• Using analysis concepts, convert business requirements into technical solutions by understanding technical constraints and existing technical architecture/functionality
• Prepare user stories derived from the business requirements
• Present and refine user stories, into agreed acceptance criteria, with the development team
• Work alongside developers to ensure any developments are in line with requirements and are tested to an appropriate level prior to release
• Act as main point of contact for the development team with respect to product management and requirements
• Assist, where necessary, in the building, delivery and execution of test plans associated with any related developments
• Triage and prioritize defects for the team
• Ensure a high level of quality documentation is in place to cover both new developments and changes to existing applications
• Manage a development team backlog in accordance with product management priorities
• Using the team backlog, provide input into sprint and release planning
• Knowledge of Scrum

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications using Java 8+ (Java 17 preferred) and related technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop and implement efficient and reliable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues and provide timely resolutions using extensive debugging skills.
• Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Utilize version control systems, such as Git and GitHub, to manage source code and collaborate with other developers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Java technologies and industry trends, and apply them to enhance software development processes.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
• Work in an Agile development environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

What makes you stand out:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on Java.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks, such as Spring Boot.
• Experience with Kafka for event-driven architecture and message queueing systems.
• Proficiency in using Apigee for API development and management.
• Familiarity with MongoDB for NoSQL database operations.
• Knowledge of Docker and containerization technologies for building and deploying applications.
• Optional: Experience with PostgreSQL for relational database operations.
• Proficiency in using Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of Java applications.
• Extensive debugging skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

• BE/ BTECH/ MCA/ M TECH
• Active team player with the ability to work across geographies.
• Be open for new challenges and willing to undertake additional responsibilities.

• Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
