Role Description
SECTION II: JOB SUMMARY
The Manager - Store & Logistics will be responsible for overseeing all store, warehouse, and logistics operations related to Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role includes inventory control, warehouse management, inbound/outbound logistics, vendor coordination, customs/export-import compliance, and ensuring smooth material movement for fabrication, assembly, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities
Store & Inventory Management
Manage receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials including batteries, containers, electrical & mechanical components, and project consumables.
Maintain accurate stock levels through ERP/SAP and ensure timely reconciliation.
Implement proper storage practices for sensitive equipment (e.g., lithium-ion batteries, power electronics) ensuring safety, EHS, and fire safety compliance.
Conduct periodic stock audits, cycle counts, and inventory optimization.
Logistics & Material Handling
Plan and execute transportation of heavy equipment, containers, and modules from vendors to site/factory.
Manage inbound & outbound logistics for domestic and international shipments (road, sea, air).
Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA (Custom House Agents), transporters, and warehouse service providers.
Ensure compliance with DG (Dangerous Goods) transportation norms for lithium batteries.
Export-Import & Documentation
Oversee customs clearance, import/export procedures, and documentation.
Manage HS codes, duty structure, and exemption benefits relevant to BESS imports.
Ensure adherence to legal, tax, and government regulations (DGFT, Customs, GST, etc.).
People & Process Management
Lead and mentor store & logistics team members.
Ensure safe working practices in warehouse & logistics operations.
Establish SOPs for warehouse, inventory, and logistics management aligned with ISO/Lean practices.
Liaise with project, procurement, quality, and finance teams for smooth coordination.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain / Logistics / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field. (MBA in SCM preferred).

Knowledge of SAP is preferred

E.g. 2-5 yrs of experience as an Electrical Engineering in Battery/Solar Grid

8 - 12 years in electric engineering in Battery/Automative.
