Job Title: Manager/Senior Manager - Finance and Accounts

Grade L3/L4

Job Title and grade of supervisor: L5/L6

Purpose of the job

Person should be well versed in accounting and must be currently handing policy holder related accounting viz. premium, policy holder benefits, unclaimed amount of policy holder etc.

Responsibilities of the job holder

  • To be responsible for checking provisions received from various Departments and correctly accounting of it
  • To assist the team in preparing monthly closing and quarterly auditing.
  • To do accounting for reinsurance.
  • To prepare monthly reports with complete analysis and reasoning of variance and submit to Department Head for review.
  • To prepare account analysis and submit to Department Head for review.
  • To prepare data required for Statutory Audit and internal audit purpose.
  • To study existing Departmental processes and do changes wherever applicable.
  • To make coordination with other stakeholders.
  • To prepare schedules related to statutory IRDA returns.
Working relationships
  • Should have at least 5 years of working experience in finance and Accounts Department (Preferably Life Insurance industry).
  • Should have excellent communication and inter personal skills
  • Should be able to coordinate end to end with other departments for approvals and payments
  • Should be a self-motivator
  • Should be strong in handling multiple priorities

E.g. language fluency, selling skills etc

Hands on in Oracle/SAP accounting package.

Proficiency in MS Excel, word, power point

General Skills

General characteristics required to do the job effectively

E.g. effective communication skills, ability to delegate, motivate etc.

Excellent communication skills with good command of spoken and writing English

Experience

The proven record of experience and achievement in a field, profession or specialization

5 years of experience in accounts department (Preferably in Life insurance industry)

Qualifications

The level of education and professional qualifications and/ or specific occupational training required

B.Com with at least 5 years of accounting experience

Or semi-qualified CA with relevant experience in Life insurance industry.
