POSITION OVERVIEW : Senior Mainframe Developer Exp - 8 to 12 years POSITION GENERAL DUTIES AND TASKS : Job Title: Mainframe Developer Skills: Cobol, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, programming, and testing mainframe applications and technical architecture components. This role involves fixing defects, improving performance, and ensuring service commitments are met. The Mainframe Developer will also participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers. Responsibilities: o Detailed Design: Perform detailed design of application and technical architecture components. o Configuration and Programming: Configure, program, and test the application or technical architecture component. o Defect Fixing: Identify and fix defects and performance problems. o Service Commitments: Be accountable for service commitments at the individual request level for in-scope applications. o Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews and collaborate with other developers, designers, and architects to ensure requirements are met. o Mentoring: Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on best practices and development techniques. Technical Skills: o Proficiency in mainframe programming languages such as COBOL, JCL, and CICS. o Experience with databases like DB2. o Knowledge of mainframe tools and utilities. o Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies. o Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization techniques. General Skills: o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. o Excellent communication and collaboration skills. o Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment. o Proficiency in GIT, Scrum, and Azure DevOps. Preferred Qualifications: o Experience with additional mainframe tools and technologies. o Familiarity with modern development practices and tools. o Experience in mentoring and leading junior developers.//'
