The Senior Lecturer in Prosthodontics will contribute to the academic and clinical training of undergraduate and postgraduate dental students. The role involves teaching, supervising research, and providing leadership in the field of Prosthodontics. The Senior Lecturer is also expected to contribute to curriculum development, academic administration, and clinical services.
Key Responsibilities:Teaching and Learning:
Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Prosthodontics.
Supervise clinical training of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Participate in curriculum design and development in Prosthodontics and related areas.
Mentor and support junior faculty and students.
Research and Scholarly Activity:
Conduct and publish original research in peer-reviewed journals.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
Apply for research funding and contribute to interdisciplinary research initiatives.
Clinical Duties:
Oversee clinical care provided by students in the Prosthodontics department.
Provide specialist prosthodontic treatment in the university's dental clinics.
Maintain high standards of clinical supervision and infection control.
Academic Leadership & Administration:
Contribute to strategic planning and quality assurance within the department.
Serve on departmental and university committees as required.
Assist in staff recruitment, evaluation, and development.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
BDS or equivalent dental degree recognized by the relevant Dental Council.
MDS in Prosthodontics and crown bridge.
1-2 ears of teaching and clinical experience in Prosthodontics/freshers may also apply.
Demonstrated record of scholarly publications and research activity.
Desirable:
Experience in curriculum development and academic leadership.
Experience in interdisciplinary clinical practice or research.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong teaching and mentoring abilities.
Advanced knowledge and skills in fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
