Job Description

The Senior Lead Finance Analyst will primarily provide end to end finance support for the Government segment, reporting up through the Finance Director in DSIG - Customer Markets.
This role partners with leadership teams across the organisation to implement strategies, drive sales performance, retain and grow revenue, manage expense challenges, provide decision support, and help steer and execute the overall business strategies. This analyst will need to be collaborative, have great communication skills and pose confidence to speak up and share ideas that could help influence leaders' decisions on driving results.
About the role:

  • Perform monthly financial reporting of revenue and profitability for all entities within the group.
  • Support ad hoc projects as required by management.
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets in line with Thomson Reuter's business planning process.
  • Work closely with business leaders to understand drivers of revenue
  • Work closely with operations teams to understand drivers of expenses/costs and work towards reducing them.
  • Provide insightful commentary and explanations of results based on analysis of data trends and fluctuations.
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly business reviews. Prepare slides, coordinate inputs from business partners, and provide commentary around significant items.
  • Present financial information in a clear manner using data visualization tools such as Power BI, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and management to provide updates on key initiatives and business developments.
  • Develop strong relationships with various stakeholders across the organization.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify solutions to complex issues and opportunities.
  • Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
About You:
  • College degree required and graduate degree or certification in business or finance (such as MBA or CPA) strongly preferred
  • Experience: 6-9 years of experience in a Finance role
  • Experience supporting a high performing sales and retention organization
  • Experience evaluating customer data and trends to identify opportunities and risks
  • Experience in communicating effectively and the ability to influence others
  • Proactive and organized with the ability to multitask, managing time and competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Self-starter with proven ability to work autonomously, collaborate and influence key leaders within the context of a complex, matrix organization to drive results
  • Excellent communication and people skills; Ability to openly and confidently story tell with senior management and challenge/influence all areas of the business
  • Strategic and critical thinker
  • Familiarity with accounting and financial reporting
