Overview

Collins Aerospace, a division of United Technologies, is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented, and results driven Aerothermal Analyst to join the Avionics, Technology Organization. This position is responsible for analysis work to support R&D and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects within Avionics. Your responsibilities would include working with teams or individually to perform Aero and Thermal Analysis tasks to support the development of new Technology, Methods and Tools for Sensors and Fire Protection system/products.

Job Title: Senior Lead Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Aerothermal Fluids

What You DO:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of performing Aero Thermal task using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software\xe2\x80\x99s in R&D and product development environment with focus on product design, design validation, optimization, and improvement.

The role encompasses the following responsibilities:

Execute CFD analysis for Air data probes using commercial tools Ansys Fluent/Star CCM.

Validate analysis results through Hand calculation / Classical engineering method and wind tunnel test correlation.

Coordinate with global engineering team to capture analysis requirements and understanding of workflow, discuss issue, and resolve problems.

Design suggestion and support engineering for product design optimization and/or design improvement.

Prepare and present analysis results to cross functional team.

Develop automation scripts/coding for pre/post processing of CFD packages.

Coaching and mentoring to develop successors.

Provide input on project schedules and budgets.

What we Need:

ME/ M.Tech Degree in Aerospace /Thermal/Mechanical Engineering.

Good understanding of CFD theory, and analysis tools related to external aerodynamics and heat transfer.

6-9 Years of experience in Aerospace/Automotive Industry

Experience using Ansys SpaceClaim, Ansys Workbench, Ansys Fluent and/or STARCCM+.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in Product Design or R&D in Aerospace/Automotive

Good understanding and experience of fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, multi-phase flows

Good understanding of Aerospace Products and RTCA DO 160 requirements.

Experience in electronic cooling using Ansys Icepak is an added advantage.

Experience in new product design and development

Experience in Technology development and Product Innovation focus

Coaching and mentoring to develop successors.
