Responsibilities:
Summary
The General Ledger (GL) Accounting Expert will oversee end?to?end GL processes in Oracle Fusion ERP, ensuring accurate and timely financial records. The role supports month?end and quarter?end close, manages GL configurations, and provides functional support across GL and related subledgers. The individual will collaborate with Finance, Reporting, and Technology teams to enhance standardization, automation, and overall process efficiency
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end?to?end general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, allocations, and period close processes.
  • Configure and maintain Oracle Fusion GL components such as ledgers, accounting calendars, COA segments, cross?validation rules, allocation rules, and accounting setups.
  • Manage integrations between GL and upstream modules (AP, AR, FA, CM) ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely posting.
  • Perform close governance: open/close periods, monitor subledger transfers, resolve exceptions, and ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies.
  • Support functional troubleshooting of GL?related issues, user queries, data discrepancies, and interface failures.
  • Develop, review, and maintain documentation including SOPs, process flows, test scripts, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Reporting, Tax, Audit, and Global Finance teams to support financial reporting, compliance, and audit activities.
  • Lead or contribute to COA enhancements, system upgrades, UAT, migrations, and transformation initiatives related to Oracle Fusion GL.
  • Drive automation, process optimization, and standardization leveraging Oracle Fusion capabilities and best practices.
  • Provide informal guidance, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to junior team members and cross-functional stakeholders.
Must?Have Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Fusion ERP - General Ledger, including setups, configurations, COA maintenance, cross?validation rules, allocations, revaluations, and consolidations.
  • Deep understanding of GL accounting principles, period close processes, and intercompany accounting.
  • Functional expertise in subledger to GL integrations (AP, AR, FA, CM) and troubleshooting related interface errors.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Tools such as:
  • ADFDI/Spreadsheet Uploads
  • FBDI templates
  • Smart View (nice-to-have)
  • OTBI & Fusion GL Reports
  • Strong analytical capabilities to investigate data issues, perform variance analysis, and validate financial results.
  • Experience in data quality controls, reconciliations, exception management, and audit support.
  • Solid understanding of governance controls, approval workflows, segregation of duties, and compliance requirements.
Other Skills
  • Exposure to Financial Consolidation, Planning, or Reporting tools (FCCS, Planning, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Experience working in a shared services (GCC) or BFSI environment.
  • Ability to handle large datasets, perform root?cause analysis, and drive remediation efforts.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to independently interact with global stakeholders, including Head Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to organization?level initiatives.

This role reports to: Manager / Senior Manager - General Ledger Qualifications:
Qualifications - Certifications - Relevant Work Experience
  • Postgraduate in Finance, Accounting, MBA, or Chartered Accountant (qualified/semi-qualified).
  • 8-10 years of overall experience in Finance and Accounting.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of hands?on experience working with Oracle Fusion ERP - General Ledger including system configuration, maintenance, and functional support.
  • Preferred industry experience: BFSI, shared services (GCC), or finance transformation environments.
