Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Landscape Lighting Designer to join our Bangalore studio, contributing to the design and delivery of high-profile landscape and public realm projects across the Middle East. The ideal candidate will bring a strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of lighting's role in enhancing outdoor environments, with sensitivity to cultural and climatic contexts of the region.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of exterior lighting concepts for public spaces, parks, waterfronts, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.
  • Collaborate closely with landscape architects, urban designers, and engineers to integrate lighting seamlessly into the overall design vision.
  • Develop lighting strategies that respond to Middle Eastern climate, cultural aesthetics, and nighttime use patterns.
  • Prepare detailed lighting layouts, fixture specifications, photometric studies, and control strategies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to ensure quality and compliance with regional standards.
  • Support project delivery from concept through construction, including site visits and mock-up reviews.
  • Stay current with lighting technologies, sustainable practices, and smart lighting systems relevant to the Middle East market.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in landscape lighting design, with a strong portfolio of built work.
  • Experience working on Middle East projects is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in lighting design software (e.g., Dialux, Relux, AGi32), AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of lighting controls, energy codes, and sustainable lighting practices.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with ability to work across time zones and multicultural teams.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Familiarity with LEED, Estidama, or other regional sustainability frameworks.
  • Experience with Giga projects or large-scale masterplans in the Middle East.
  • Ability to mentor junior designers and contribute to studio knowledge sharing.
  • Multilingual capabilities (Arabic is a plus but not required).
