Job Summary

The Senior Laboratory Technician is responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations, performing diagnostic tests accurately, ensuring quality control, and supporting junior staff while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform and supervise routine and specialized laboratory investigations Ensure accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting of lab results Maintain quality control and quality assurance procedures Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment Supervise and guide junior lab technicians and assistants Ensure proper sample collection, labeling, handling, and storage Maintain laboratory records, reports, and documentation Follow infection control, biosafety, and waste management protocols Coordinate with doctors and other departments for test requirements Ensure compliance with NABL / hospital standards and protocols

Qualifications

DMLT / BMLT / MMLT or equivalent qualification Recognized institution certification required

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory Experience in handling automated analyzers preferred

Skills Required

Strong technical and analytical skills Knowledge of laboratory safety and quality standards Leadership and team supervision skills Attention to detail and accuracy Basic computer knowledge and LIS experience preferred

Shift Timings

General / Rotational shifts as per hospital requirement
