Brainsquare India is looking for a Senior Java/Oracle Support Engineer to lead our enterprise application-support track. In this hands-on leadership role you will coordinate day-to-day 2nd-line support, mentor a small team, and drive technical improvements.
Roughly 75 % of your time will focus on production-support activities (incident handling, RCA, process improvement), while the remaining 25 % is allocated to small-scale Java & PL/SQL development or enhancement work.
Your main tasks
Lead 2nd-line ticket queues, SLA compliance, shift scheduling, and escalations.
Mentor junior engineers and review root-cause analyses.
Deliver hands-on resolutions, Java/PLSQL bug fixes, and performance tuning.
Liaise with 3rd-line development, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
Drive automation, monitoring improvements, and knowledge-base expansion.
Maintain support documentation and onboard new team members.
What we are looking for in you
5 + years
in Java/Oracle application support, including team guidance.
Proven depth in
Oracle PL/SQL, SQL tuning, Java support & troubleshooting
.
Experience leading or mentoring support staff and handling escalations.
Familiarity with ITIL processes and tools (Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, monitoring).
Comfortable working in rotational shifts and flexible availability for support.
Strong English communication; capable of stakeholder management across time-zones.
Nice to have
Background in large-scale logistics or supply-chain solutions.
Automation / scripting (Shell, Python) and CI/CD exposure.
Experience introducing support KPIs and continuous-improvement initiatives.
