Senior Java Software Engineer

About the role:

Brainsquare India is expanding its Java team with senior engineers who will work on

API-driven back-end development using Spring Boot

.

You'll focus on

project delivery

, new feature development, and technical excellence - not routine maintenance.

In this role, you'll act as a

technical reference

for your peers, ensure code quality, and help shape development standards within our teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop and extend

REST APIs

using Java 11 / 17 and Spring Boot. Translate complex requirements into modular, testable code. Create and maintain

unit and integration tests

to guarantee quality. Conduct

code reviews

, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers. Contribute to project delivery in an

agile environment

with cross-functional teams. Ensure

secure coding practices

(OWASP Top 10 / Spring Security). Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD integration and deployment automation.

We are looking for a hands-on engineer with a strong technical foundation and a proactive mindset.

You combine deep experience in Java and Spring Boot with a genuine drive for clean, maintainable, and secure code.

Technical Background

Proficient in

Java 11 / 17

Spring Boot

, and REST API design. Solid understanding of

SQL

(Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL). Exposure to

DevOps tooling

such as Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, SonarQube, Artifactory, Liquibase, Spring Config Server, BuildMaster, or Octopus. Optional knowledge of

WildFly EE / Quarkus

Must-Have Skills

5+ years of relevant experience in back-end development. Experience in

API project delivery

rather than support or maintenance. Strong sense of code ownership and accountability. Familiar with agile delivery, CI/CD, and collaborative development workflows. Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
