About the Company:

Decerto is a Polish insurance software house that offers comprehensive systems for the insurance industry. Decerto has two key products for insurers: Agent Portal (a system for automating the work of insurance agents) and Higson (a Business Rules Engine solution). Our company develops insurance solutions for 80% of the Polish insurance market. We also operate in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Your role and the project

As part of our partnership with the Client, we are developing an insurance system supporting corporate underwriting. The platform allows easy customization and creation of solutions tailored to business needs. It is implemented for clients in the insurance sector, mainly in the UK and US markets.

We are looking for an experienced

Senior Java Developer

to join the team and contribute to building secure, high-quality, and reliable software solutions.

Key technologies and tools:

Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, MySQL.

Collaboration tools

: Jira, Confluence, Slack, GitHub/GitLab.

Methodology:

Scrum/Agile.

Your responsibilities:

Design and implement solutions based on provided specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional, distributed, international teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, and develop solutions that meet business needs. Create and maintain technical documentation. Ensure high quality, secure, and reliable software. Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and maintain code quality. Fix code issues and manage changes through environments up to Production. Write unit and integration tests, ensuring solutions are well-tested and maintainable. Participate in Scrum ceremonies and contribute to process improvements. Ensuring compliance with our and customer's policies, processes, and data protection requirements.

Join us if you have:

At least 8 years of experience in Java-based projects.

Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, and Hibernate.

Advanced English (including technical vocabulary), used daily in professional settings - written and spoken.

Experience working in an international environment.

Experience in writing secure and robust software / knowledge of secure coding practices.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams. Strong attention to code quality and best practices. Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.

Education:

UG: B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, IT, or related technical field; PG: any postgraduate degree

Bonus:

Experience or knowledge in the insurance domain

Additional information:

Fully remote position available for candidates based in India. Possibility to work in a fast-growing and stable organization. Work may require alignment with UK or US time zones. This is a fixed-term contract with potential for extension.
