Role Overview
The
Senior Interior Designer
is responsible for end-to-end design ownership of residential interior projects, from concept to execution. This role demands strong design sense, client-handling maturity, technical accuracy, and the ability to lead junior designers while coordinating with sales, production, and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Planning
Lead complete design development including space planning, layouts, BOQs, and detailed working drawings.
Translate client requirements into practical, cost-effective, and aesthetically strong design solutions.
Prepare and validate 2D layouts, 3D visualizations, and execution-ready drawings.
Ensure all designs are aligned with company standards, budgets, and timelines.
Client Management
Act as the primary design contact for clients post-signup.
Conduct design discussions, material finalization meetings, and design sign-offs.
Manage client expectations and clearly communicate design constraints, changes, and timelines.
Handle design-related escalations and resolve conflicts professionally.
Execution & Coordination
Coordinate closely with production, procurement, and site execution teams.
Support site teams during PCM, CM, and execution stages with clarity and accuracy.
Ensure drawings issued to production are error-free and updated as per approvals.
Address site and production queries without delay to avoid execution bottlenecks.
Team Leadership
Guide, review, and mentor junior designers.
Allocate work efficiently and ensure adherence to deadlines.
Review drawings and outputs for quality before release.
Drive accountability within the design team.
Quality & Process Compliance
Follow internal design processes, checklists, and review protocols.
Maintain proper documentation of approvals, revisions, and handovers.
Ensure minimization of rework due to design errors or miscommunication.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong command over space planning, modular kitchens, wardrobes, and residential interiors.
Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight timelines.
Problem-solving mindset with strong execution orientation.
Eye for detail and high standards for accuracy.
Software Proficiency
AutoCAD (mandatory)
SketchUp / 3ds Max (preferred)
V-Ray / Enscape / Lumion (preferred)
MS Office / Google Workspace
Experience & Qualifications
2-5 years of experience in residential interior design.
Proven experience handling mid to high-value projects end-to-end.
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design or Architecture.
