YOUR IMPACT


You will spend about 80% of your time working at a client's location as part of their consulting team, helping solve complex client problems in manufacturing and supply chain domains.


Our work focuses on driving efficiency in manufacturing and supply chain operations. This includes optimizing shop floor processes, enhancing yield and throughput, and increasing workforce productivity. You will help unlock capacity in manufacturing plants, reduce costs and defects, and ensure reliable, flexible, and safe production. Additionally, you will maximize asset returns, develop optimal supply chain network models, and refine inventory strategies for better efficiency.


You will build your expertise in Global Energy & Materials (GEM) across industries and will be mentored by our implementation experts who bring decades of industry experience and a track record driving change in complex organizations.


You will be based in one of our India offices - Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurugram, Kolkata or Mumbai - as a part of McKinsey Implementation in the Operations practice.


McKinsey Implementation is a rapidly growing capability for our firm. Our Global Energy & Materials practice is committed to helping clients outperform and innovate across Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining, Electric Power/Natural Gas and Chemicals & Agriculture industries.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS


Bachelor's or master's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry, manufacturing or operations management (supplemented by technical training), with a strong quantitative underpinning and an outstanding academic record Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment Skills in lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies Experience with product ionization (process flow diagram, process automation, line automation) Experience with line automation/hardware e.g. PLCs, Robots, SCADA, VFDs etc. Experience in IoT, Industry 4.0, digital use cases, dashboards * Expertise in root cause analysis for scrap and rework rejection; fish bone analysis, PFMEA etc
