We are seeking an experienced and proactive Sr. HR Executive to oversee all aspects of Human Resources for our manufacturing plant. This is a strategic leadership role requiring a hands-on approach to drive HR initiatives, ensure statutory compliance, and manage a small team. The ideal candidate will be a independent problem-solver capable of balancing high-level strategy with daily operational oversight.
You will be directly responsible for managing the HR Assistant and will serve as a key advisor to plant management on all people-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Management & Compliance
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
Ensure 100% compliance with all labor statutes (Factories Act, PF, ESI, Gratuity, Contract Labour, etc.). Review and approve all statutory filings.
Oversee the daily attendance and labor reporting process, reconciling headcount with production needs.
Manage the entire employee lifecycle, including approving offer letters, confirmations, warnings, and separation documents.
Handle employee grievance procedures and resolve complex employee relations issues escalated from the HR Assistant.
Talent Acquisition & Development:
Lead the talent acquisition process for all level roles (e.g., Engineers, Supervisors); conduct interviews and coordinate with production heads on staffing requirements.
Oversee the onboarding process for critical hires.
Identify training needs and coordinate skill development programs for the workforce.
Administration & General Affairs Oversight
Provide final approval for vendor payments related to security, housekeeping, and other administrative services.
Authorize maintenance and repair work orders for the facility.
Conduct regular facility safety rounds to ensure adherence to safety protocols (e.g., PPE, fire equipment, aisle clearance).
Review and approve administrative expenses against the budget.
Team Leadership & Management:
Directly manage, mentor, and oversee the daily work of the HR Assistant.
Ensure the operational HR and Admin tasks (leave management, onboarding kits, front desk, etc.) are executed efficiently and accurately by the assistant.
Management Reporting:
Prepare and present daily/weekly reports to management on key metrics: labor attendance, overtime compliance, attrition trends, and potential risks.
Make data-driven recommendations to improve workforce efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications and Experience
Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive experience in an HR Generalist role,
with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience directly managing an HR/Admin team member is essential.
In-depth knowledge of Indian labor law and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, Bonus, Factories Act).
Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management.
Strong analytical skills and experience with HRMS and attendance systems.
Excellent command of English and Tamil.
