Job Summary



We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and ethical Head Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our CBSE school. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, ensuring strict compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting to support the school's strategic objectives. A strong understanding of educational finance and experience with school fee management systems are essential.

Responsibilities



? Manage the complete accounting cycle, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

? Develop, implement, and monitor robust financial policies and internal controls to safeguard school assets.

? Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports for the school administration and governing body.

? Oversee the school's budgeting process, working with department heads to prepare and monitor annual budgets.

? Manage invoicing, collections, and concessions in accordance with school policy.

? Ensure timely compliance with all statutory requirements, including TDS, GST filings, and audits (internal and external).

? Supervise and mentor the accounts team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions.

? Prepare financial data and analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making by the school leadership.

? Manage vendor payments, staff salaries, and other financial disbursements accurately and on schedule.

? Maintain secure and organized financial records and documentation for audit readiness.

Skills



? In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards (Ind AS), and statutory regulations (GST, TDS) applicable in India.

? Proficiency in advanced accounting software (e.g., Tally ERP 9/Prime) and MS Excel (advanced functions).

? High level of integrity, analytical skills, and a meticulous eye for detail.

? Excellent organizational, time-management, and leadership skills.

? Strong communication skills to interact effectively with management, staff, and external agencies.

? Design and administer competitive compensation, benefits, and recognition programs.

? Identify training needs and coordinate professional development workshops, in-service training, and certification programs for all staff.

? Ensure strict compliance with all educational regulations, labour laws, and statutory requirements.

? Maintain meticulous and confidential employee records and HR databases.
