Senior Hardware Discipline Engineer role Provides specialized technical support and solutions for project teams, operations and maintenance. Understands and implements Most Effective Technology (MET), work process, tools and industry best practices within their discipline. The Hardware Disciplines within Engineering and Maintenance are comprised of the following disciplines: Buildings, Civil, Electrical, Instrument, Materials, Mechanical, Process Containment Equipment and Piping. Hardware Disciplines support both projects and technical support teams as an inspector, engineer on large projects or lead for their discipline on small/intermediate projects. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.

This role requires the candidate to have the ability to serve as discipline lead, focal point, and/or engineer.

Responsibilities

In the Lead/Focal Point Capacity:

• Directs activities within their discipline and coordinates activities with other disciplines.
• Has accountability for project results and for the implementation of and adherence to all relevant work processes and best practices.
• Drives front end loading to ensure clear scope definition along with establishing plans and schedules to enable adequate control during execution.
• Leads the completion of deliverables provided to estimating and reviews output of the estimate to ensure accurate reflection of scope.
• Ensures drawings and specifications meet the needs of the project including functioning as intended, on time and within budget.

In the Engineer Capacity:

• Serves as engineer on the project team within their discipline.
• Supports development of technical contract package and supports implementation.
• Drives value engineering and economic designs to ensure the best value is delivered to the business.
• Uses and enforces project change management program.
• Ensures safety in design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years in Manufacturing and Engineering
• Advanced understanding of the civil discipline technology
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills (written and verbal)
• Independent decision making
