Role Overview
At Demos Project, the
Graphic Designer
will be a key visual lead in a
fast-paced,
high-volume political digital campaign.
This individual will be
responsible for designing, supervising, and optimizing creative assets across
digital platforms, ensuring message clarity and visual consistency. The
candidate must demonstrate strong creative thinking, technical execution,
and leadership capabilities while navigating the cultural and political
landscape of Tamil Nadu.
Core Responsibilities
1. Design Execution and Conceptualization
? Design high-quality static content such as posters, carousels, digital
flyers, infographics, thumbnails, event graphics, and visual storytelling
formats.
? Convert political themes, briefs, and scripts into powerful visuals that
engage and inform.
? Adapt designs for multiple content series, campaign types, and
audience segments.
? Incorporate Tamil visual cues, typography, and symbolic elements
wherever necessary.
2. Visual Branding and Template Systems
? Build and manage a visual template system for recurring content series.
? Define style guides for font usage, color schemes, layout grids,
iconography, watermarking, and campaign identity.
? Ensure uniformity and branding across all campaign creatives.
3. Team Leadership and Quality Control
? Supervise and mentor junior designers and interns in delivering daily
outputs.
? Review all designs for visual accuracy, brand alignment, and content
sensitivity.
? Collaborate with the Creative Director to manage the workflow
calendar, maintain deadlines, and deliver high-volume assets with
consistent quality.
4. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Units
? Work closely with copywriters, video editors, social media managers,
memers, and ads teams to align creative design with broader campaign
goals.
? Participate in daily briefings to align visuals with messaging direction.
? Integrate platform insights and performance data to refine creative
strategy.
5. Format Optimization and Platform-Specific Design
? Create design assets optimized for multiple platforms:
o
Instagram/Facebook:
Carousels, quote posters, regional language
visuals
o
YouTube:
Thumbnails, banners, channel art
o
Twitter/X:
Text visuals, issue cards, one-liners
? Ensure creatives meet
platform specs
and
content flow standards.
6. Political and Cultural Sensitivity
? Design creatives that
reflect political tone,
regional sentiments, and
cultural nuances.
? Create visual responses to events, developments, or trends with speed
and clarity.
?
Maintain legal, ethical, and narrative discipline
while designing political
materials.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education
? Bachelor's or Master's degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design,
Fine Arts, or related disciplines.
Experience
? 2-5 years of relevant experience in a campaign, branding agency,
newsroom, or fast-paced media environment.
? Must have handled multi-platform content design workflows, preferably
for Tamil-speaking audiences or political campaigns.
Technical Proficiency
? Advanced skills in
Adobe Photoshop
and
Illustrator.
? Familiarity with
InDesign, Canva,
and basic video tools is preferred.
? Experience with Tamil text placement and bilingual layouts.
? Motion or animation design exposure is a plus but not mandatory.
Creative and Soft Skills
?
Strong visual storytelling,
attention to detail, and layout discipline.
? Proven ability to think quickly and creatively under pressure.
? Strong communication, feedback, and team collaboration skills.
Work Environment and Expectations
? Willing to work late hours and weekends, especially during high-activity
campaign phases.
? Must operate with complete confidentiality on sensitive political
content.
? Comfortable working in high-pressure, feedback-intensive campaign
settings.
