The Senior Designer is responsible for creating innovative, functional, and aesthetically appealing furniture designs aligned with market trends and company standards. This role involves managing the complete design process -- from concept to production -- and leading the design team to develop new collections and customized products for residential and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop creative furniture designs based on client requirements, market trends, and brand identity.
Prepare 2D and 3D design concepts, detailed drawings, and specifications using design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, etc.).
Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
Select appropriate materials, finishes, and hardware for designs.
Review prototypes, provide design feedback, and ensure product quality meets company standards.
Research global trends, new materials, and design innovations to enhance product offerings.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to present new designs and collections.
Lead and mentor junior designers, ensuring timely project completion and creativity within the team.
Maintain a comprehensive design library, including sketches, samples, and project documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Product Design, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in furniture design or related manufacturing industry.
Strong proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, SolidWorks, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, etc.).
Good understanding of materials, joinery, ergonomics, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent visualization and presentation skills.
Strong creativity with attention to detail and functionality.
Leadership ability and team management skills.
Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
