The Educate Team is part of the Client Engagement group in Client Technology. You will be responsible for educational technology and products that help deliver excellent outcomes for IG Group clients. We want you to help us shape the solutions that deliver our client goals and commercial objectives as part of the Educate Team. This role is all about collaboration across disciplines, working alongside a team of Mobile, Frontend, Middleware and Full-Stack Engineers, Product Designers, QA, Data Science, Architects, Business Analysts and Product Managers. Our teams are broken into core platform teams and cross-functional teams. Your team is cross-functional and responsible for supporting the Client Engagement Group Strategy, the broader Technology Strategy and the overall company purpose. You will impact what we build and how we build it. Your role will report to the Technical Team Lead, and you\'ll have regular catch-ups to ensure alignment on your objectives and to help you develop and grow as an engineer. Every sprint, your team will participate in agile ceremonies where you define the team focus based on the team objectives and quantify the overall impact on users. Each week you will discuss tools, techniques and problems to collectively and continuously improve what we build and how we operate. Demonstrate strong hands-on experience in Java application development, including proficiency in core Java concepts and frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, or Java EE. . Experience working in cross-functional teams and with full-stack technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Node JS, ReactJS, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C) . Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and software development best practices. . Understanding of how JVM works . Experience in developing RESTful web services using Apache Tomcat . Demonstrated knowledge of agile development methodologies, TDD and CD . Enjoy working collaboratively on complex tasks . Excellent track record for delivery and quantifiable outcomes . Experience with large-scale applications and establishing new solutions . Experience in guiding and supporting junior and mid-level engineers. . Ability to write testable code and test it Preferred Qualifications: . Mobile app development experience in iOS or Android . Experience with cloud platforms and services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. . Knowledge of microservices architecture and related technologies, such as Spring Boot or Docker. . Experience with RESTful API development and integration. . Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools, such as JUnit, Mockito, or Selenium. . Knowledge of NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB or Cassandra. . Experience working in a DevSecOps culture and implementing CI/CD pipelines, leveraging testing, observability, and other appropriate tools . Experience dealing with challenges from stakeholders on technical issues and influencing technical decisions in the team.
