Senior Finance Manager Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Provide local financial oversight and support on a high-volume portfolio with multiple project managers crossing various business lines.
  • Engage in regular meetings with project managers and/or project delivery teams on the status of projects
  • Assist Project Managers regularly with project setup, project monitoring, system updating and closeout
  • Participate in project review preparation, execution, and follow up
  • Assist project manager with the preparation and update of the EAC (estimate at complete) for all active projects;
  • Ensure that the current budget reflects approved as-sold contract margin plus all client approved changes.
  • Ensure all incurred costs are reflected accurately and in a timely manner on the project;
  • Ensure that financial reporting for pending change orders are reflected correctly in Work Orders, and appropriate approvals and documentation are in place for Revenue recognition and Compliance.
  • Work proactively with Project Managers to monitor and correct project financial issues in such as % complete > 100%, BIEE (Billing in Excess of Earnings) adjustments, cash > contract value and others issues as they occur.
  • Support Project Management team in ERP system understanding
  • Understand month end events to ensure they are prepared completely and processed accurately and timely
  • Understand the commercial and billing requirements of the projects; ensure project set up accurately reflects proper billing requirements
  • Understand project costing methodologies, and provide assistance and review support on proposals for low risk projects.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with internal and external audit support as required
  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes; working closely with Regional and Division leaderships to provide required deliverables.
  • Direct regional leadership on developing and tracking EBITDA improvement opportunities; especially as it relates to operating efficiencies. Leads financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, and reporting efforts to ensure efficient financial operations.
  • Review analysis results, develops insightful suggestions for investment, sourcing, cost reduction and provides support to division leadership on strategic business decisions.
  • Ensure communication regarding business plans and budgets across all functions and corporate groups on a monthly basis.
  • Develop and maintain value added cross divisional and cross functional partnerships to maintain awareness of business activities through knowledge, experience, and best practices.

Competencies
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus two (5) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Finance/Accounting Diploma and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting.
  • Experience as a Cost Accountant administering multiple projects of varying sizes.
  • Possess exceptionally strong analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational, team building, communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic matrix environment.
  • Ability to present complex financial information to Executives.
  • Experience within understanding complex process flows and driving process improvements
  • Strong Excel experience required in: knowledge of Developing Dashboards, Financial Modeling, or automation of Financial Procedures, writing macros, developing formulas using functions such as pivot tables and all lookup functions (V-Lookup, Match,& IF Statements), BI – Microsoft Power BI experience and Database experience a plus
  • Strong ability to guide and influence senior leadership.
  • Must be capable of operating independently, but readily seek the counsel of others, when necessary

  • Education and Experience
  • Minimum of (5 ) years of related experience as a Project Accountant or Senior Accountant administering multiple projects of varying sizes
  • SME in Indian GAAP and IFRS
  • SME in revenue recognition for contract over time ( POC )
  • At least (10) years of experience in manufacturing and / or engineering companies is required
  • Experience using ERP systems to deliver projects is desirable
  • Technology savvy, Excel, Databases, reports creation
