Position: Senior Finance Manager
Location: Kolkata
Reporting To: Director
Experience: 5+ years in core finance roles
Education: CA / MBA (Finance) / M.Com or equivalent
Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Senior Finance Manager to lead financial operations
and ensure statutory, banking, and internal compliance. The ideal candidate will possess deep
knowledge of Indian tax laws, GST, ROC compliances, and hands-on experience in working with
Tally, Excel, and MIS reporting. This role requires close coordination with banks, auditors,
government bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth financial functioning.
The candidate will manage a team of junior finance staff and handle select personal financial
matters for the Director and their family. Prior experience working in a family office and handling
investments and income tax matters of family office members is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Extract and analyze financial data from Tally for reporting and review.
Use Excel tools (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Goal Seek, Macros) for financial
analysis.
Prepare and present monthly/quarterly MIS reports for management review.
Prepare overdue interest sheets and reconcile debtors' and creditors' ledgers.
Compliance & Regulatory Filings
Ensure accurate and timely filing of GST and Income Tax returns.
Validate GST returns prepared by consultants.
File ROC returns and ensure full Companies Act compliance.
Stay up to date with changes in Indian tax laws and compliance requirements.
Banking & External Coordination
Coordinate with banks for documentation, compliance, and communication.
Draft correspondence and manage banking-related paperwork.
Handle foreign remittances, including documentation and regulatory compliance.
Liaise with external auditors, credit rating agencies, legal advisors, and government
authorities.
Payments & Vendor Management
Oversee vendor payments and maintain good vendor relations.
Ensure timely renewal of licenses and manage related follow-ups with authorities.
Team & Operations Management
Supervise a small finance team; assign tasks and review performance.
Ensure smooth day-to-day financial operations.Family Office & Personal Finance
Manage personal financial matters, including investments and income tax, for the
Director and family.
Liaise with advocates and third parties on family office-related legal or financial matters.
Maintain and organize investment records and personal financial files.
Key Skills Required

  • Proficiency in Tally ERP for data extraction and analysis (very less data entry would be
  • needed).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Goal Seek, Macros).
  • Thorough understanding of Income Tax, GST, and ROC compliance.
  • Strong communication skills for drafting letters and coordinating with banks and government
  • bodies.
  • Analytical thinking with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and lead a small team.
