Job Title: Senior Executive - Production Planning & Control (PPC)
Location: Nashik Plant
Department: Supply Chain
Reporting To: Manager - Supply Chain Planning
Role Purpose
The Production Planning & Control (PPC) function serves as the nerve centre of plant operations, responsible for translating demand signals into executable production schedules, ensuring resource optimization, and driving end-to-end supply chain alignment. This role is crucial to balancing operational agility with long-term planning and is expected to drive excellence in service levels, cost efficiency, and inventory health.
Key Responsibilities * Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Design and maintain a rolling production plan that aligns with demand forecasts, plant capacities, and inventory norms.
  • Generate SKU-wise weekly and daily production schedules by line, ensuring optimal resource utilization and minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, quality, and maintenance teams to validate feasibility and proactively manage constraints.
  • Workforce & Resource Planning
  • Develop manning plans in sync with production schedules to ensure adequate and trained workforce availability.
  • Coordinate operator callouts and handle unplanned absenteeism with agility to prevent line disruptions.
  • Plan Adherence & Stability
  • Strive for high plan adherence by locking weekly schedules with minimal mid-week changes.
  • Anticipate risks (material shortages, capacity bottlenecks, machine breakdowns) and integrate mitigation plans within the scheduling process.
  • Daily Operational Execution
  • Manage cold room capacity and inventory flow with strict adherence to FEFO/FIFO principles and temperature standards.
  • Play a pivotal role in trial planning, changeovers, MRP revisions, and NPD rollouts, ensuring they are embedded into the production plan without affecting BAU (business-as-usual).
  • Lead daily and weekly review meetings, surfacing critical callouts and driving cross-functional resolutions.
  • Inventory & Quality Control Coordination
  • Partner with QA to manage pathogen testing holds, root cause analysis, and salvage planning, ensuring minimal impact on production and inventory.
  • Own SLOB (Slow-moving and Obsolete) inventory reviews; trigger rework, liquidation, or write-off actions where applicable.
  • Drive disciplined WO closure practices to reflect actuals and clean up systemic discrepancies.
  • MIS & Performance Reporting
  • Prepare and publish daily/weekly/monthly dashboards covering key PPC metrics like MSP, OTIF and inventory health.
  • Actively contribute to the plant scorecard by supplying reliable, actionable data and insights for decision-making.
  • KPI Monitoring & Improvement
  • Monitor and drive improvements across key PPC KPIs such as:
  • Master Schedule Performance (MSP)
  • On-Time In-Full (OTIF) order fulfilment
  • Reduction in FG SLOB
  • Establish control systems and root cause analysis frameworks to address recurring KPI misses.
  • Long-Term Capacity & Material Planning
  • Conduct Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) to identify medium- to long-term capacity constraints and guide capital or hiring decisions.
  • Collaborate with the MRP planner to maintain robust MRP parameters, ensuring seamless raw and packaging material availability.
Key Competencies & Attributes
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 3-7 years of experience in PPC in manufacturing/FMCG/food processing industry.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and MIS tools.
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing workflows, inventory controls, and planning algorithms.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams under pressure.
  • Discipline, accuracy, and problem-solving orientation.
  • Exposure to GMP, food safety, or quality assurance processes (preferred for food/FMCG sector).
