Overview:
A Processed Foods Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of a food production facility. This role involves overseeing the entire production process, ensuring quality standards are met, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. The position demands a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the food processing industry to ensure that production targets are met and exceeded.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily operations of the food processing plant
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Manage production schedules to meet customer demands
Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed
Implement and enforce quality control standards
Coordinate maintenance and repair of plant equipment
Collaborate with other departments such as procurement, distribution, and marketing
Ensure efficient inventory management
Respond to and resolve production issues in a timely manner
Maintain records of all production and safety activities
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations
Communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders
Key QualificationsBachelor's degree in Food Science/ Technology, Masters is a Plus
MBA or advanced degree
2+ years of experience in food processing or manufacturing
Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and other food safety standards
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
Proven ability to manage large teams
Strong project management experience
Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally friendly practices
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field
Knowledge of food safety regulations
Ability to analyze and interpret production data
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
