Role Description:

Senior Engineering Manager for FinancialAccounting will be responsible for overseeing engineering managers and teams involved in R2R(RecordToReport) and Treasury(TR) initiatives. This individual will ensure that all engineering activities align with the organization's objectives while fostering effective and innovative deployment and integration of automation solutions within the Financial Systems landscape.

Managing Teams

Is responsible to get things done in the right way by taking ownership, being proactive and collaborating with business counterparts, peers, other craft managers and stakeholders and guide EMs and Architects + teams in this topic. Financial Accounting

Lead and manage a diverse team including managers, developers, business analysts, and contractors focused on building solutions for Record to Report and Treasury processes across brands of Booking. Oversee the delivery and end-to-end lifecycle of R2R and TR initiatives; this includes backlog management, quarterly planning, and ensuring processes are ready and aligned with business requirements. Drive adoption of best practices in development, solutioning, deployment, and operations, ensuring that the team operates autonomously and entrepreneurially while supporting a growing portfolio of automation use cases. Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, report progress, identify risks or blockers, and plan for headcount, including recruitment and workforce planning. Provide coaching and mentoring to direct reports (developers, architects, analysts), promoting continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional skill development. Oversee change management processes, utilizing platforms such as JIRA for demand intake, backlog prioritization, and lifecycle tracking of automation initiatives


Architectural Guidance

Is responsible to advise product teams towards a technical solution that meets the functional, nonfunctional & architectural requirements by challenging the rationale for an application design and providing context in the wider architectural landscape guide EMs and Architects + teams in this topic. What you'll bring:

Proven experience managing technical teams delivering Enterprise solutions (SAP) in the area of Financial Accounting at scale Must have a background in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent Practical experience in developing / implementing / managing SAP R2R and TR functions (14+ years) Solid understanding of business process improvement, compliance, risk management, and relevant regulations (especially within Finance and accounting domains) Excellent project and stakeholder management skills; able to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences (English language proficiency required). Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and proficiency in tools like Gitlab for configuration management is a plus Strong work ethic, high team spirit, and the ability to drive accountability and performance Experience in shaping and leading a software engineering function across multiple products or business areas (5+ years as a senior manager) Natural leader and communicator who is collaborative and builds great relationships. Experience of leading a team directly as well as through others A knack for connecting the dots and collaborating with various stakeholders to prioritize what maximizes business value Interest in latest technology trends and open for innovations coming at any level of the team. Strong analytical skills and data-driven mindset. Proficiency in agile, dev-ops methodology, release management practices and tools in a complex SAP landscape Experience as leader of a product/Development engineering organization (2+ teams with team leads or managers) Strong stakeholder management abilities (is able to communicate with multiple, cross-functional stakeholders, able to influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
