Role Title: Senior Engineering Manager Hotel Websites (HWS)
Position Summary:
Marriott International is seeking a seasoned and strategic Engineering Manager to lead the development efforts for our Hotel Websites (HWS) team. This role is ideal for a technology leader with a strong background in front-end and full-stack web development, team management, and cross-functional collaboration. You will be responsible for driving technical excellence, delivering high-quality digital experiences, and mentoring a team of engineers focused on building and optimizing Marriotts global hotel websites.
Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers responsible for building and maintaining Marriotts hotel websites.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver features that enhance guest experience and business value.
• Ensure engineering best practices are followed across code quality, testing, performance, accessibility, and security.
• Drive technical planning, sprint execution, and delivery timelines in Agile environments.
• Facilitate cross-team integration efforts including backend API consumption, GraphQL services, and CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
• Support multilingual and cross-locale development and testing to ensure global consistency and localization readiness.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability.
• Manage resource allocation, hiring, onboarding, and career development for team members.
• Monitor and improve operational metrics including uptime, page load speed, and error rates.
• Demonstrated awareness of emerging AI technologies and their application in software development.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, modern JavaScript) and evaluate their applicability to Marriotts tech stack.
• Partner with stakeholders to align engineering efforts with strategic business goals.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience in front-end development using React.js, Next.js, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong understanding of web architecture, API integration, and DevOps practices.
• Experience working with GraphQL, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with content management systems such as AEM or similar.
• Demonstrated success in managing engineering teams and delivering complex web projects.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in hospitality, travel, or e-commerce domains.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and server-side rendering strategies.

Education and Certifications:

• Graduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification
