Senior Engineering Manager

Job Description

The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering function across both manufacturing plants, driving key operational excellence and productivity initiatives. The role will partner closely with the Global Operations Organization to execute projects that enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, support capacity expansion, and enable seamless technology transfers. A strong focus will be placed on continuous improvement, process standardization, and technical capability development.

Key Responsibilities

:

Promote a zero-incident culture and ensure adherence to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and all statutory safety and environmental requirements. Maintain a compliant and safe working environment across all engineering activities. Lead and implement projects focused on cycle time reduction, process optimization, waste elimination, cost reduction, and yield improvement. Drive productivity and efficiency initiatives such as SMED, Kaizens, process standardization, and asset utilization improvements. Manage CAPEX budgeting and execution, including cost-benefit analysis (IRR, NPV, Payback). Support technology transfer projects from global facilities, ensuring robust technical qualifications and smooth product ramp-ups. Oversee plant layout design, utility planning, and facility optimization for enhanced manufacturing performance. Lead continuous improvement programs in energy management and heat treatment operations. Ensure engineering projects meet quality, cost, and timeline targets using Six Sigma and crossfunctional collaboration tools. Implement and maintain engineering standards, SOPs, and version-controlled manufacturing data. Drive equipment upgrades, technology improvements, and innovation initiatives to support business growth.

Qualifications & Experience:



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering (B.E./B.Tech). 12-15 years of experience in precision, heavy machinery, automotive, or tooling manufacturing industries. Proven track record of managing plant engineering operations, including CAPEX, process improvement, and blue-collar workforce management. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
