Pattern design for aluminium casting

• Tool design for GDC
• Aluminium casting planning and manufacturing of quality parts
• Tooling & Raw material planning and Procurement
• Operation and handling of DMLS Machine.
• Manufacturing feedback

Knowledge of GD&T.

• Part drawing reading, fits and Tolerances.
• Knowledge of Zero based Costing and Cost Re-Engineering.
• Data generation and analytics
• Validation of the parts
• Trouble shooting of casting defects
• Topology optimisation

A Day in the life
Aluminum Metal casting shop is to produce engine, frame, and body parts such as cylinder head, Block, crankcases, covers, chassis parts, swing arm for proto vehicles. This team interacts with design team to understand their requirement and takes care of model/drawing study, pattern design, soft tool pattern data preparation for CNC machining, 'stl' data preparation of molds for 3D printing machine and sand mold preparation for castings. Further to this, it is required to assign the work to the technician and get the parts done as per requirement.

B. Tech. (Mech)/ DME
Technical Skills/Knowledge
Hands on Experience in sand casting

• Proficient in CAD, CAE (Catia/Nova.
• Hands on experience in design of sand casting molds and GDC Mold.
• Knowledge of pattern design, Mold Assembly and metal flow Analysis.
• Knowledge and expertise of programming and operating DMLS machine.
• Knowledge of heat treatment and its effects
• Trouble shooting of sand casting Defects.
• Hands on experience of operating sand printing
