esponsibilities
o

proactive hands-on role in railroad track design projects o
anagement of the track design process through the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phases o
evelopment of ballasted and non-ballasted track structures, track alignment, profile, and associated grading plus drainage o
ssessment of rail vehicle/infrastructure clearances o
eer review of the track design and associated reports prior to submission o
iaison with other disciplines to ensure all work is completed to a high standard and with a consistent approach o
reparation of the design briefs, technical reports, design analysis and calculations o
alculation of quantities, preparation of cost estimates, project specifications and construction bid/tender documents o
rovide technical direction to junior designers and oversee work undertaken by them o
orking with Project Managers on developing design schedule and budgets K

orizontal and vertical alignment design and reporting. Different modes (Light rail to freight) and different design stages (concept through to detail) o

wareness of maintenance principles o
stablish and maintain working relationships. o

oftware Competencies

hould have working knowledge of MicroStation / AutoCAD/ Open Rail Designer o
onversant with the MS office o
orking knowledge of gauging clearance assessment o
orking Knowledge of ProjectWise or Similar software for handling of designs. Q
ualifications

ivil in Civil Engineering o
orking towards, or willing to work towards, Chartership. o
-10 years experience of rail infrastructure/engineering environment. W
