Launch Engineer is responsible for Capacity Verification of global supply base capacity for specific Ford North America programs.
Execute the Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for Capacity Verification.
Role is India based supporting to FNA in required time zone.
Bachelor of Engineering or academic equivalent
Proven Experience (5+Years) in Program management - Automotive OEM or Tier1.
Be proficient in English when working with global teams
Knowledge of STA Quality tools ,systems and conversant with Value Stream Mapping , Capacity Calculations.
Analytical skills and ability to handle data base and reporting ,new model launch tools and systems
Cross-Functional/culture work experience
Manufacturing and Quality Experience in one or more, but not limited to the following manufacturing process:
Casting, Machining, Forging, Stamping, Welding, Plastic/Rubber Molding,
Brazing, Sintering, Automated/Manual Assembly Processes,
Ensure capacity verifications as per ford APQP guidelines .
Represent and be supplier advocate in Cross-Functional Meetings
Train suppliers and cross functional team members, as required, on the Supplier Engagement Process and the APQP/PPAP .
Tracking External Supplier APQP/PPAP Readiness Assessment status and communication with Site STA and Supply Base.
Drive resolution of all YELLOW/RED deliverables with cross functional team members.
Aggressively manage and review Phased PPAP status and timing plans to deliver on time Phase PPAP approvals
Arrange cross functional meetings to drive PPAP issues resolution and manage action plans to assure on time PSW approvals
Proactively monitor, manage and escalate significant issues inhibiting Supplier PPAP/launch risks.
Develop program specific New Parts APQP -Upload and maintain program details in the eAPQP System& track program deliverables .
* Drive resolution of supplier quality issues raised by Automated Issues Management System. Lead containment, 8D follow up, ICA / PCA activity.
