Senior Engineer Quality Assurance HW / Test Benches is responsible on a day to day basis to establish and implement a rigorous Quality Control and Assurance System compliant to the ECC's policies, processes, instructions while ensuring the delivery of high quality products which meets internal quality criteria as well as customer contractual requirements.

Missions and responsibilities :

The job holder is responsible for the following activities

  • Manage compliance to Quality Assurance requirements, support and verify tailoring activities of Thales practices and their result in the relevant documentation.
  • Define the relevant Quality Plan specific for the project and verify implementation of the Project Quality Plan, and relevant customer procedures
  • Ensure that the Solution delivered to the Customer is complying with both Customer and Company requirements, with the required level of Quality.
  • Support the product teams so that the relevant processes, practices and standards have been followed, and that the product delivered to the customer meets defined requirements.
  • Support Quality Assurance activities including Supplier Quality Assurance to ensure the Product / Solution is in line with Customer expectations and agreed quality standard.
  • Assure the quality of purchased solutions in collaboration with System Engineering Managers by evaluating deliverables through peer reviews.
  • Ensure visibility of the product assessments and project performance through the monthly quality advice reports.
  • Support the project team in managing customer complaints
  • Support and verify the process implementation (TIMS) and also support the external certifications
  • Raise alerts and veto as required.
  • Manage Anomalies, Nonconformities and report to the management on these.
  • Make sure that formal approval of the conformity of products is given by the right authority
  • Ensure proper verification of in-process and end product/project artifacts
  • Ensure configuration management activities are implemented adequately.
  • Participate in Product acceptance activities
  • Support verification of parts in TCIS
  • Support in implementation of Naming conventions in the project as per Thales requirements.
  • Support the Certifications (AS-9100- ISO 9001 etc.)
  • Provide independent assurance that the planned HW life cycle processes are followed and resulting output supports DO-254 & AS9100 standards.
  • Expertise in RTCA DO-254, DO-160, DO-330 Standards.
  • Good knowledge in Certification Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Configuration Management Plan, Development Plan & Verification Plan.
  • Perform test witness, quality audits for all documents, products, processes and FPGA verification artifacts.
  • Support development programs formal customer reviews such as: Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and Functional and Physical Audits (FCA/PCAs).
  • Support Stage of Involvement (SOI) and First Article Inspection (FAIs) reviews and audits.
  • Able to identify and suggest changes to the Product lifecycle process, including all plans, standards, procedures, processes and strategies.
  • Audit of all products (documentation, code, artifacts).
  • Prepare FPGA conformity review and verify compliance.
  • Audit FPGA defects and use a bug tracking system.
  • Review HW plans and standards for completeness and consistency.
  • Verify processes comply with the approved HW plans and standards.
  • Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
  • Participate in product design reviews, providing input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or risks and CCB (change control board meetings).
  • Review Hardware documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks.
  • Participates in Product functional tests, pre-qualification tests and witness the qualification tests
  • Reviews QTPs and QTRs and signs the test sheets
  • Familiarity of standards MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-810G and compliance requirements
  • Coordinating with BL QA team on understanding the list of artefacts required for complying to EASA or FAA expectations.
  • Support a service-focused culture with emphasis on effectively delivering on time, high-quality products and services to internal and external customers.
Skills and competences requirements:
  • 4 to 8 years of relevant experience
  • Competences and experience for electronic design
  • Competences and experience for electronic tests
  • Ability to step back, identify critical points and define priorities
  • Ability to cooperate with others to achieve a goal
  • Strong experience in Quality/ Quality Management System
  • Strong experience in Project Quality and/or Engineering Quality
  • Strong experience in Continuous Improvement (8D, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma)
  • Thorough knowledge of and experience with CAR-PAR and Alerts/Vetos.
  • Customer complaint management experience
  • Usage of Palma
  • Knowledge of Excel and automation on excel.
  • exposure to Lean Engineering practices
