Job Description

Summary

We are looking for an experienced mechanical layout design engineer in the mining & mineral processing industry. Engineer will be working with team at Weir EnSci, Bengaluru and interact with our business unit (South Africa) to provide the new solutions. Engineer needs to work on layouts, chute designs, conveyor design, crushing and screening modules, and wash plant modules. Engineer should work independently & be able to lead the team to execute projects.

Requirements

• Experience in mineral processing communition plants, plant layouts & material handling plants (layout design, chute design, conveyor design, bin designs, support module design, etc.) is necessary.
• Able to work independently under minimum guidance and ability to make engineering judgments.
• Ability to lead the drafting/CAD team to execute project.
• Ability to evaluate existing designs and propose design alternatives & optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Including but not limited to

• Direct interaction with end customers to get the clarifications, inputs, approval and accountable for the timeline and deliverables.
• The engineer is completely responsible for OTD, Budget, Quality of deliverables (FTR).
• Participate in design reviews on both internal and external
• Interact with peers and business partners to understand the scope and to clarify the queries.
• Review and investigate design alternatives and ensure all factors are considered to meet customer specifications.
• Prepare clear, complete, and accurate detailed notes or sketches for the designers / drafters to create detailed models and drawings.
• Knowledge about international safety norms for walkways, handrails, stairs, etc.
• Ability to communicate/report/document technical information with project team and customer.
• Good Knowledge on general fabrication principles, welding, tolerance, and other relevant drafting standards for preparing Fabrication drawings.
• Concept visualization of drawing for better understanding and explanation.
• Checking CAD drawings & CAD Models
• Create assembly model and detail part drawings / fabrication drawings using CAD system.
• Execute tasks to standards within schedule and cost (hours) goals.
• Highlights all technical risks to next level / BU.

Education and Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical with 12 to 15 years or B.E/B. Tech in Mechanical with 10 to 12 years of experience in the mining & mineral processing industry.
• Experience in the mineral processing communition plants and wet plant layouts (layout design, chute design, conveyor design, bin designs, support module design, etc.) is necessary.

Language Skills: Proficiency in English (Written and Verbal).

Mathematical: Basic Mathematical principles

Reasoning Ability: Logical reasoning ability

Computer Skills: CAD tools preferably with UG NX, AutoCAD, MS Office 365 Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook), Teamcenter / PDM tools.
