Job Summary

If you are an experienced Oracle DBA consultant with experience in cloud platforms ( Azure or AWS ) , this job may be for you! This role will work collaboratively, focusing on the company\xe2\x80\x99s growing estate of SQL Server and Oracle databases, installing and maintaining the database software, setting up user accounts, managing the backup strategy and regularly maintaining database security. The team is seeking top notch talent in the Database Administrator space.

Note : Very strong Oracle DBA expertise required, it\xe2\x80\x99s a fully remote role with some occasional travel needs as per business requirements.

Charles River Labs is on an exciting journey to modernize the data landscape, building a customer 360, implementing new data standards, bringing to life the \xe2\x80\x98art of the possible\xe2\x80\x99 to our business partners, integrating with several new data sources, and ultimately building a brand-new Modern Data Warehouse in AWS or Azure.


Basic Qualifications:

• Installing and maintaining Oracle database software.
• Creating storage database structures with high-level security features.
• Altering storage structures to meet the evolving needs of the company.
• Setting up database user accounts.
• Finding and debugging malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity.
• Creating autonomous database backups.
• Regularly updating database security protocols.
• Good understanding of Oracle running in the cloud with IaaS and PaaS services
• Experience with Big Data Technology Stack: Hadoop/Spark/Hive/MapR
• Experience with Big Data Management (BDM) for relational and non-relational data (formats like json, xml, avro, parquet, copybook, etc.)
• Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure, Databases, Storage, Databricks, Azure Data Factory

Qualifications/Requirements :

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer engineering or computer science.
• Proven work experience as a Database administrator.
• Familiarity with Oracle database design, coding, and documentation.
• Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL.
• Knowledge of programming languages and API.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• 5+ years of experience working with Oracle.
• Experience in ETL design, development, and performance tuning in general.
• Strong analytical problem-solving ability
• Great presentation skills
• Great written and verbal communication skills
