A

s a Overhead Line Engineer Lead, you will design of a range of Overhead Line Circuits at voltages ranging from 11kV to 400kV.
P

repare feasibility study reports to meet brief requirements in the agreed format and review with the Associate/Principal Engineer of Structures D
esigning of transmission tower, with the use of PLS Tower software for transmission line design. C
reate all associated Engineering Design calculations and documentation. S
upport the creation of all necessary material bill of quantity schedules. A
ttend site meetings (virtual) and provide ongoing design drawing changes / support as required during project build. W
ork with WSP UK Team to assemble a design specification compliant with the employers' requirements, agree its format and content, and monitor and review its preparation ensuring delivery by the due date A
gree and monitor scope of works with the Associate/Principal Engineer of Structures C
learly define building requirements and purpose of use with the Associate/Principal Engineer of Structures and WSP UK Team to allow detailed design C
arry out detailed design to WSP and B Regulations standard ensuring CDM, QA and technical review and sign off by the Associate/Principal Engineer of Structures, including complex calculations and co-ordination issues R
eview and monitor the production of calculations including QA, technical reviews and sign off E
nsure that information for project costing preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, and keep the WSP UK Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisions P
rovide documentary information via the WSP UK Team to assist in the preparation of tender documents, ensuring that information for tender preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, and keep the WSP UK Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisions D
eal with the day to day queries from the WSP UK Team, ensuring that relevant information is available on time for construction activity R
eport to the WSP UK Team in association with the Associate/Principal Engineer of Structures any variance between the works constructed and the design intent L
ead the design process and encourage the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost effective solutions to the agreed programme. F
ollow in full the document control, archiving CDM and QA processes relevant to project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence are issued, and filed in an appropriate manner, coach junior staff in their usage K

andatory Skills
E

xperienced Civil & Structural Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Overhead Line Circuits at voltages ranging from 11kV to 400kV.. E
xperience in handling projects independently, including liaising between disciplines and clients . P
referable experience in international codes such as American, Euro codes, etc. C
onversant in software such as PLS Tower PLS CADD, Tekla, STAAD . A
sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essential M
ust be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology Q
