Job Description

Preparing, reviewing, and approving of transmission line tower & foundation design including associated documents and accessories Preparing engineering documents related to transmission tower and foundation design. Designing as per relevant codes and standards Optimizing the overall weight of the tower and foundation with respect to tender quantity Performing Sag tension calculation and providing the approximate weight of the tower at the tender stage Designing of transmission tower, with the use of PLS Tower software for transmission line design. Create all associated Engineering Design calculations and documentation. Support the creation of all necessary material bill of quantity schedules. Attend site meetings (virtual) and provide ongoing design drawing changes / support as required during project build. Reviewing designs produced by suppliers and clients to ensure designs are technically compliant and in line with current legislation and policies.

Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects.


Client Focus:


Responsible for assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers on moderately complex projects and may determine the key clients in some instances


Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on moderately complex projects


Proven experience in the design of UK Overhead Line Circuits (Towers and/or Poles) at any voltage up to 400kV. Bachelor's in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering Knowledge of all applicable engineering standards. The ability to design with PLS- CADD, Tower or similar.
