The purpose of the Sr. Engineer - Test Automation role is to design, develop, and implement automated test frameworks and scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications. The primary objective is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process by leveraging automation tools and techniques. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, execute test plans, and continuously improve test automation processes.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop robust and scalable test automation frameworks and tools. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and test cases. Implement automated test scripts and scenarios to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability. Continuously enhance and maintain the test automation infrastructure, incorporating best practices and industry standards. Execute automated tests, analyze test results, and report defects to ensure the accuracy and completeness of test coverage. Collaborate with development teams to diagnose and troubleshoot issues and provide detailed feedback to facilitate bug fixes and improvements. Drive the adoption of test automation best practices and techniques throughout the organization, promoting a culture of quality and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate test automation into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.

Work Experience

Education & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications related to software testing and test automation, such as ISTQB Certified Tester - Advanced Level, Selenium WebDriver Certification, or similar.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms, such as

AWS

, GCP, or Azure. Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, Appium, and JUnit. Knowledge of test automation best practices and methodologies. Proficiency in using test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail) to document test cases, track defects, and report test results. Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as TypeScript, C#, Python, or Java, and experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG). Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality software and a commitment to continuous improvement. Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner) for testing scalability and reliability of applications. * Knowledge of cloud-based testing environments and services, such as AWS Device Farm or Sauce Labs, for executing tests across various devices and platforms.
