Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Linux System Administrators are responsible for the support and administration of Dish's Linux servers running primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux both on-prem and in the cloud. Sucessful candidate will support everyday operations through documentation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. This includes but is not limited to, implementing Change Requests (CRs), responding to production incidents by joining troubleshooting bridges and taking actions to restore services to normal, and routine maintenance (patching, auditing, etc.).The candidate should be flexible in Rotational Shift.
Skills - Experience and Requirements:
5 + years of Linux Administration and responsible for designing, implementing, Supporting and monitoring the Server infrastructure. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar relevant degree (MSc or MCA). Solid understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS, including the Linux command line. Handle L2/L3 escalations related to Linux systems. Ability to handle in-place upgrades and OS re-platforming (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu), including kernel upgrades, package compatibility validation, and post-migration testing. Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts. Familiarity with Net app Storage and backup/recovery EMC Networker. Ability to successfully navigate formal and informal communication and decision-making channels. Basic understanding of cloud technology, including AWS and containerization. Working knowledge of Service Now ticketing and change management workflows. Install new systems and rebuild existing systems. Collaboration with application owners and business partners. Perform after-hours system and configuration changes. Create an ansible playbook, write shell / python scripting & chef to automate daily tasks like package installation, software upgrades, pre-post patch validation, user creation etc. Monitor systems to ensure reliability and stability. Troubleshooting issues in production, test, and development environments. Participate in project planning and implementation. Develop and maintain procedural documentation. Assist with automation and virtualization where applicable. Demonstrated self-starter that works on assigned projects to completion.

Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC). * AWS Knowledge, Python scripting, EC2, Lambda function, and Containerization.
