About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in system design, algorithmic problem-solving, and API design using modern backend technologies. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing highly scalable, distributed microservices and backend systems that power our enterprise platform.

You'll work closely with architects, frontend teams, and DevOps engineers to deliver secure, performant, and maintainable backend solutions -- ensuring our systems are robust, extensible, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize backend services and RESTful APIs using Java (Spring Boot). Model complex business domains and translate them into scalable microservice architectures. Lead system design and API design sessions, defining service contracts, data flows, and integration patterns. Develop and maintain high-performance data access layers using MongoDB and other data stores (SQL/NoSQL). Implement and optimize algorithms and data structures for real-time, large-scale workloads. Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment pipelines. Ensure code quality, reliability, and maintainability through code reviews, unit tests, and CI/CD practices. Drive improvements in system scalability, observability, and performance optimization. Contribute to technical architecture decisions, documentation, and engineering best practices. Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.

Required Skills & Experience

4+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with Java (Java 11+/17). Deep understanding of Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and the microservices ecosystem. Proven experience in system modeling, algorithm design, and complex problem-solving. Strong command of RESTful API design principles, OpenAPI / Swagger specifications, and versioning strategies. Experience with MongoDB (schema design, aggregation pipelines, indexing, and performance tuning). Solid knowledge of distributed systems design, asynchronous communication, and event-driven architectures (Kafka/RabbitMQ). Proficiency in data structures, design patterns, and object-oriented programming (OOP). Understanding of containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with authentication/authorization frameworks (OAuth2, JWT, RBAC). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure) and DevOps tools. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
